STUDENTS WILL BE JUMPING AND DRUMMING THANKS TO WALMART!

Hoquiam School District received a $1500 grant from the local Aberdeen Walmart. These funds will be used for equipment to keep students active during distance learning. Physical Education Teacher, Cindi Lu Strode, requested the grant to help pay for needed equipment to keep students engaged and active during physical education instruction. The original grant request was made in the amount of $800 but Walmart decided to add an additional $700. Mrs. Strode sought the advice of veteran P. E. Teacher, Keith Reynvaan, for purchasing advice. His response was, “Better jump ropes! Jump rope skills are one of the easiest ways to learn coordination, build muscle strength and increase cardiorespiratory endurance.” Distribution of jump ropes for kindergarten through fifth grade students and drum sticks for second through fifth grade students will occur during December supply distributions, exact dates to be determined by each school.
