Students in Hoquiam Middle School who are eligible for free or reduced lunches may be eligible to enroll in free tutoring services in reading, language arts, or math. These services are called Supplemental Education Services. The purpose of these services is to increase the student’s academic achievement. The tutoring will be provided by state-approved tutors, in person or on-line. The tutoring may occur before or after school or on weekends. Transportation to the services is the parent’s responsibility. If your student is eligible for free or reduced lunch and you are interested in applying for these services, fill out the application that was mailed to your home or pick up an application form through the school office or District Administration Office. The timeline to return the application has been extended to Friday, January 30.
Money deposits for lunches can be paid at the window by the main office before school starts. Students will be unable to deposit lunch money when they go through the lunch line. Of course, if a student is late for school, they may put money on their account in the office when they arrive. No change can be given.
